Kirkland Middle School offers one choir class, called “Concert Choir.” Concert Choir is open to 6-8th graders. No audition is required to participate; however, prior choral experience is helpful. Students in Concert Choir learn the basic fundamentals of vocal technique, music theory, and sight-singing. A variety of repertoire in emphasized, including classical, folk, jazz, and pop music. Students in Concert Choir also participate in special school assemblies, district festivals, and field trips. Concert Choir is a year-long elective and meets during the school day.
